We have not appointed a data protection officer, as we are not required to under Art. 37 GDPR.

What we collect, and why

1. The waiting list

When you enter your email address, we store: your email address, the time of sign-up and of confirmation, a shortened (hashed) IP address, the page version you arrived on (the ?a= parameter), and a referral code if a creator sent you.

Why: to email you once, when early access opens.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw it at any time — every email has an unsubscribe link, and withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.
Proof of consent: we log the time and technical details of your sign-up so we can prove your consent if we ever have to. That log is why we keep the hashed IP.
How long: until you unsubscribe or we close the list, then deleted within 30 days.

2. The three optional questions

If you answer them, we store your answers linked to your entry. They are voluntary, and skipping them changes nothing. Legal basis: consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Deleted together with your entry.

3. Server logs

Our hosting provider records each request: shortened IP address, time, page requested, browser and operating system. This is needed to run the site securely and to spot attacks. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, secure website, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Deleted after 7 days.

4. Reach measurement

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we host on our own server. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and does not track you across websites. It counts page views and which page version brought them. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding which message works, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Because no information is stored on or read from your device, no cookie banner is required.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone else, unless we are legally required to.

Transfers outside the EU

All our service providers process your data exclusively on servers within the European Union. We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the EU.

No fonts, maps or embeds from third parties

All fonts are served from our own server. We embed no videos, maps, social media widgets or advertising trackers, so no third party learns that you visited this page.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of your data (Art. 15), correct it (Art. 16), delete it (Art. 17), restrict how we use it (Art. 18), receive it in a portable format (Art. 20) and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). Write to contact@vamocalls.com — one email is enough, no form needed.

You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. The one responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin.

If you are in the United States

We collect only what is described above: your email address, the optional answers, and basic technical data. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. To have your information deleted, email contact@vamocalls.com.

Children

This waiting list is not for people under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has signed up, write to us and we will delete the entry.

Changes

If we change this policy, the date at the top changes with it.
